Skull Skates, a Canadian company, was created in 1978 by Rick & Peter Ducommun. Originally called Great North Country Skateboards (GNC), skaters quickly adopted the name "Skull Skates" after looking at its logo. The classic skull logo was made by cutting it into griptape.
